Silent.Hill.2.Directors.Cut.PC.Game(djDEVASTATEâ„¢) The first Silent Hill release for the PC platform, Konami’s Director’s Cut takes the winning formula from the PlayStation 2’s Silent Hill 2 and mixes it with the much-vaunted extras seen in the Xbox version, Inner Fears. Silent Hill 2 was once a sacred place for main character James, but it’s not what it used to be, as players of the original will attest. Doors are almost all locked and the windows to the various rooms offer nothing but reflections.
Konami isn’t messing around with this game
Comedy is strictly forbidden and everything included in the game is disturbing in one way or another. There’s a genuine sense of claustrophobia throughout the game that’s compounded by the darkness and the thick, heavy fog. New to the Director’s Cut are a number of new graphical features.
Most importantly, though, there’s an entirely new chapter in the experience that can be played with a new female character
Taking advantage of the PC’s graphics cards and processing power, Silent Hill 2: Director’s Cut comes with improved visuals and some stunning lighting, further exaggerating the game’s ominous mood. There’s certainly plenty of extra stuff to do, and it’s worth a try even if you already own the PS2 version. Starting a new game from scratch, your initial encounters with members of the screwed-up dimension aren’t too scary and are usually easy to dispose of with just a nail bat or a small weapon.
and not in a good way
These twisted people include headless nurses and dismembered torsos that crawl through the thick fog. The core gameplay involves the player solving puzzles, navigating up and down corridors, collecting and combining items, and generally feeling unhinged… Like its predecessor, the Director’s Cut is a superbly put-together game.
